We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee and drive the successful execution of civil infrastructure and construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, from planning through to completion. You manage client relationships, and strive to deliver projects on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend Prime/Owner’s pre-construction meeting to establish a collaborative approach.
  • Review job files, estimates, plans, and specifications.
  • Schedule internal pre-commencement meetings to align on project specifications, bid details, and construction approach.
  • Respond to RFP’s, create Statement of Work (SOW’s) and draft Project Change Notices.
  • Act as the focal point for managing multiple projects and coordinating with Technical Leads, clients, and teams.
  • Develop and execute detailed project plans, ensuring on-time, on budget, and high-quality delivery.
  • Oversee and manage project execution, including work plans, schedules, budgets, manpower, and equipment.
  • Ensure strict adherence to contract specifications and proactively negotiate scope changes.
  • Conduct regular internal project review meetings to track progress and resolve issues.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between owners, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Negotiate project scope changes with clients and stakeholders.
  • Maintain strong client relationships to support project success and future opportunities.
  • Prepare and submit progress estimates, change orders, and vendor/subcontractor payments.
  • Control purchasing, procurement, and subcontractor management.
  • Ensure cost control and financial tracking using B2W software.
  • Ensure compliance with Whissell’s safety program and Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) regulations.
  • Monitor employee compliance with OHS standards and implement improvements.
  • Manage document control processes, including project documentation, RFI’s directives, and submittals.
  • Coordinate permit and approvals acquisition for pre-construction compliance.
  • Initiate final close-out meeting to resolve outstanding billings, obtain final payments, and process holdback releases.
  • Document inspections with owners and superintendents, including CCC and CAD completion.

Qualifications:

  • P.Eng, CET or 10+ years of relevant industry experience an advantage
  • Extensive knowledge of project lifecycle, construction processes, and contract administration.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, schedules, and cost reports.
  • Experience with B2W software is an asset along with Microsoft Office and project management tools (eh. Procore, HeavyJob, or equivalent)
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional teams, subcontractors, and external stakeholders.
