Join our team as a Pipelayer and be a key player in building essential infrastructure! In this hands-on role, you’ll install and maintain sewer, storm drain, and utility lines, using the latest equipment and techniques. Key Responsibilities:

  • Install pipe on grade and on line
  • Make sure the pipe is cleaned
  • Make sure pipe is pushed in the proper way
  • Make sure tools are loaded in the morning
  • Make sure all tools are kept in good condition
  • Proves ability to lay concrete, PVC, and Poly pipe
  • Proves ability to lay box pipe
  • Shows comprehension of why pipe must always stay on center line
  • Proves ability to setup centre line in trench
  • Shows ability to start pipe lineup on correct path
  • Work and act as a mentor on site to junior crew members, especially Pipe Layer Helpers
  • Setup measurements for pipe placement and concrete coring into manholes.
  • Prove ability to utilize and teach correct procedure for line capping at end of shift
  • Ensure correct amount of gravel coverage around pipe before backfilling operations
  • Proves ability to work in deep trenches, with very large diameter round or box pipe.
  • Proves complete knowledge of pipe lasers and transit use (leveled, grade, proper working order)
  • Be able to read blueprint plans
  • Listen to others, and be a crew leader
  • Complete understanding of all soil types
  • Understand, and utilize correct rigging procedures. Prove comprehension on how and what correct rigging, clamps and clutches are used, and why.
  • Knows and understands correct distances for crew members to be when loads are being craned.
  • Prove ability to setup transit, read grades and measure depth consistently.
  • Can prove full competency of all tool operations.
  • Understands what mainline hoe requires to operate efficiently.
  • Must show abilities of working in trenches at any depth.
  • Must be proficient in measuring, cutting and beveling pipe.
  • Must also be able to show and instruct junior crew members how to correctly measure, cut and bevel pipe.
  • Must be proficient in reading and understanding Locates.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years working as a Pipelayer in the Deep Underground Utility Installation industry
  • Thorough knowledge of pipe lasers and transit use (leveled, grade, proper working order)
  • Ability to read blueprint and city specifications is required
  • Ability to read and understand Locates is required
  • Ability to dig trenches manually or with machinery as required.
  • Familiarity with bucket operation techniques is advantageous.
  • Strong commitment to safety practices in all aspects of work
  • General knowledge of proper equipment operation
  • Must have a means of transportation
